How arcade points work
Every game keeps score differently, so a chess win and a pipe-laying run can't be compared directly. Instead, your best score in each game earns up to 1,000 arcade points based on where it ranks among everyone's best scores in that game. Beat half the players and you earn about 500; top the board and you get close to 1,000.
Points from every game you've played are added together, so trying all seven games is the fastest way up the Arcade board. Only your best score in each game counts, so playing one game over and over won't pad your total.
While a game has only a few scores, we use a preset scale of typical scores for that game, and blend it toward the real rankings as more people play. That keeps the first few players from getting a perfect 1,000 just for showing up.
Fair play
Each game asks the server for a one-time code when you start, and scores are checked when you finish: how long the game took, whether the score is possible, and the details of the run (for chess, the server replays every move). Anything that looks off is held back for review instead of going on the board.
Your initials
Pick three letters or numbers with the arrow buttons when you set a high score. We store your initials, your score and a random device code (not your name or any personal info) so your scores from the same phone or computer add up. The same initials on a different device count as a different player. See our privacy policy.
